Welcome the the Beckstrom Lake Powell Blog...

After years of talking about doing some sort of scrapbook of our Lake Powell trips, we decided that this blog was the answer. If you have pictures of any of these trips we would love to have them for this blog. Please contact us! Otherwise we'd love to hear from you in the comment section. You can double click on pictures to see them full size. Then right click and you can save them for your personal use. Beckstrom Lake Powellers only please!

Powell 2005

Dane and Wendy, Dave and Jane, Shawn and Erika, Travis and Michelle (not pictured), Layne and Diana, Jeff and Angie, Dave and Tina, Chris and Ginger, not pictured: Troy and Kathy, Jen and Matt. This year we went in October around the 13th. It was a little chilly but we had a blast with the parasail. Layne and Diana had bought one and this was the first year we used it. As usual, Shawn was the ginnie pig!

This was also the year Troy and Kathy had a very large rat on their yacht. They could hear him eating their food each night but could never find him. Dave decided to write a song about "Big Troy" and the rat and sang it while playing his guitar. He had everyone rolling with laughter as he included all of our names in the song/story.

One night, it rained and those of us who were unlucky enough to be sleeping on top of the houseboat, tried to all fit under the awning. We draped extra tarps to keep the rain from pelting on us. In the middle of the night, Dane got up to use the restroom and slipped and fell on top of Dave. Dave yelled, "Dane, quit screwing around!!"

We also had kneeboard wars this year and had our first female competitor- Ginger. Everyone watched as Shawn didn't let up on a female. She took alot of water to the face! This was the first year we winterized the houseboat. We must have done alright, because everything worked the next year.

Troy and Kathy brought their yacht and we loved surfing behind it's HUGE wake. Dave rode around on the waverunner and picked up those who fell. He swamped the waverunner when he lost his hat and tried to retrieve it!

Matt and Jen brought their brand new Tige boat.

Erika airchaired being 6 months pregnant.
